TRAD MUSIC AWARDS ON 3RD DECEMBER
2005
SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED – PUBLIC
TO VOTE
THIRD AWARDS AT QUEENS HALL, EDINBURGH
TO BE PRESENTED BY MARY ANN KENNEDY
AND IAIN ANDERSON
The short list for this year’s Trad Music Awards has
been announced with voting open from 1st-25th November. The
winners will be announced at the awards, which will be held
at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh on 3rd December 2005. The
hosts will be Mary Ann Kennedy and Iain Anderson. This is
the 3rd year that the awards have been staged and acts performing
will include Blazin' Fiddles, Maggie MacInnes Band, Jim Malcolm,
Plockton National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music,
Kirkwall City Pipe Band, Stuart Cassells, TMSA Young Trad
Musicians (featuring all the finalists of the 2005 BBC Radio
Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award), Anna Massie Band,
The Occasionals and more.
In addition to live music and the 17
Awards there will be 6 performers inducted into the newly
created Hall of Fame. Postal voting forms are available from

and online voting in conjunction with BBC Scotland’s
Celtic Roots website (www.bbc.co.uk/celticroots) and media
sponsors, The Scotsman.
